Subfloor

Before making any major changes, understand what type of subfloor you have. Different materials (wood, concrete, etc.) affect what kind of flooring, plumbing, and support you’ll need.

Door Swing & Frame Thickness

This often gets overlooked but is critical in how it integrates with the vanity, toilet, or towel hooks. Make sure to plan accordingly so the door doesn’t interfere with functionality.

Electrical: Outlets & Switches

Plan electrical placement with the overall layout to ensure proper access. We always include:
✔ A can light in the shower for better visibility.
✔ A 110 CFM exhaust fan placed strategically between the shower and toilet to effectively remove moisture.
✔ Enough outlets near the vanity for convenience.

Plumbing Considerations

Simple fixtures for your shower head or faucet in stainless or black from Delta work well here, and are budget friendly. Our favorite tub by Kohler allows for deep soaks!
